Right-handed pitcher Luis Castillo has signed a 5-year, $108 million contract extension with the Seattle Mariners.
The contract runs through 2027 and includes a mutual option for 2028. It also includes a vesting option that could take its total value to $133 million, according to ESPN.
Since Castillo’s first start for Seattle on Aug. 3, the Mariners have the third-best starter ERA in the major leagues at 3.04 and second best in the AL behind division rival Houston.
Castillo was named to the National League All-Star team in July for his second All-Star selection.
