It looks like the Golden State Warriors fresh off their fourth championship in eight years have to deal with internal drama yet again, courtesy Draymond Green.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson, a heated altercation broke out between Green and guard, Jordan Poole. With Green apparently striking the 23-year-old, and the duo having to be separated by teammates. The Warriors are now reportedly “considering disciplinary action” against Green following the incident.
Per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Green eventually apologized after the altercation, adding that Poole’s anticipated upcoming contract extension was a source of tension in the locker room.
If Draymond Green gets disciplined, it won’t be the first time for the 10-year veteran. Back in 2018, he was suspended for a game by the team following an verbal altercation with then teammate Kevin Durant during a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. An altercation that played a part in the two-time champion eventually leaving the Warriors.
Dubs writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, C.J Holmes reported Green will be disciplined but the Warriors don’t believe the altercation will be an issue long-term.
