For a long time, Lindsay Lohan has been out of the public eye, staying out of big projects and being involved in the occasional reality show. Now, she’s staging a comeback and this is coming in form of the Netflix film Falling for Christmas. She debuted the trailer for the film just yesterday and graced it with a personal appearance.
In this new project, she plays a hotel heiress who craves for more than her glamorous life. While on a skiing trip with her boyfriend, she is separated from him and has an accident. Upon being revived, she is diagnosed with amnesia.
As she could not remember her past life or name, she is forced to stay with the owner of a local lodge and his daughter. While recuperating and helping at the lodge, she comes to question herself and former life, confused that no one has come looking for her. She however seizes this opportunity for some needed soul searching.
This film is the first installation of a three picture deal Lohan signed with Netflix. Earlier in the month, she spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on her return to acting and how excited she was regarding her deal with Netflix. According to her, she is “having a wonderful time working with Netflix and am discussing next steps! I would love to dive deeper and play a character who’s on a journey [of] self-discovery,”
In the new trailer, Lohan can also be heard singing the Christmas carol “Jingle Bell Rock” which is a warm throwback and homage to her iconic Mean Girls performance.
Falling for Christmas premieres on Netflix November 10. Watch the trailer below.
