David Harbour plays the role of a crime-fighting Santa Claus in the upcoming action-comedy movie, ‘Violent Night’.
In the trailer, Harbour shows off some major crime-fighting combat skills after “a team of mercenaries break into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage.”
The movie is directed by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters).
“There’s a relationship in the movie between Santa and a little girl that really is the beating heart of the movie,” Wirkola explained.
“And so when I went into it, I basically said ‘we can do all this crazy action, we’re gonna have fun, we’re gonna have humor and darkness and all that stuff,’ but I really want the audience when they leave the theater to feel like they’ve seen the Christmas movie. So yeah, it has a really interesting combination of things.”
The film also stars John Leguizamo, Cam Gigandet, Edi Patterson, Beverly D’Angelo, Alex Hassell and Alexis Louder and hits theatres on December 2.
