Not everybody gets to pay back an over 30-year old debt, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson isn’t just anybody.
The Black Adam star was able to go back to a 7-Eleven convenience store in Hawaii that he used to steal from as a teenager and pay his debt.
On a video posted on Instagram over the weekend, the 50-year-old wrote, “We were evicted from Hawaii in ’87, and after all these years ― I finally got back home to right this wrong.”
“I finally exorcised this damn chocolate demon that’s been gnawing at me for decades.” he added.
The Rock explained that as a 14-year-old, he used to visit that particular 7-Eleven everyday to steal a snickers bar from the shelf as that was his pre-workout snack and he couldn’t afford it. “The same clerk was there every day and always just turned her head and never busted me,” he wrote.
In the video he shared, the Rock buys every bar of Snickers at the store and proceeds to pay the bill for the customers he met in the 7-Eleven.
“We can’t change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some stranger’s faces,” he wrote.
