In his first direct email to Twitter employees, Elon Musk states that all Twitter staff musk work from an office every day.
Musk’s removal of remote working comes after Twitter previously established a permanent arrangement with staff members to allow them to work from anywhere.
The email, sent late last night, stated there was ‘no way to sugarcoat’ the economic outlook.
He said: “The road ahead is arduous and will require intense work to succeed.”
In the email he announced that he is expecting workers in the office at least 40 hours a week.
The world’s richest man has already announced half of Twitter’s staff were being let go, a week after he bought the company in a $44bn deal.
Musk, who also is the boss of Tesla, told staff at the electric car maker in June that working remotely was no longer acceptable.
As part of his shake-up of the social media platform, Musk is rolling out plans to allow users to buy blue-tick verified status for $8 per month.
In his email to staff, Musk said he wanted subscriptions to account for half of all Twitter’s revenue.
