EA Sports have announced that FIFA 23 will be getting a free World Cup mode on November 9.
The FIFA World Cup update will arrive on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. It’ll give players the opportunity to play using the 32 qualified teams going to the World Cup in Qatar later this month.
Unfortunately, players on Nintendo Switch would not be getting the update.
“Get an immersive FIFA World Cup 2022™ experience with all 32 qualified teams and squads, along with authentic stadium dressings, match ball, additional player head scans, the iconic trophy, and two stadiums including the venue for the Final. Plus enjoy new FIFA World Cup™ commentary alongside visuals and cinematics that get you closer to the atmosphere of the biggest tournament in world football.” EA Sports explains.
The update will also have an online tournament mode that will let players pick a nation and fight through the knockout stages to win it all.
After the World Cup kicks off on November 20, a new experience FIFA World Cup: Live will begin from November 21 – December 18. Live will be a live experience that will be updated throughout the actual Group and Knockout stages of the real-life tournament. With updated fixtures and squads for each game as they happen in the tournament. If an outcome of a game was not what you were hoping for, you will also have the chance to rewrite history and guide your team to victory.
