The much anticipated slasher flick, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey finally gets its day on the big screen.
According to reports, Fathom Events will be releasing the movie in theaters across the United States for a one-day event on February 15, 2023. Blood and Honey will also be screened in the United Kingdom by Altitude, in Mexico by Cinemex and in Canada by Cineplex; other territories are also working on theatrical releases.
After the Winnie the Pooh IP hit the public domain in January 2022, it meant the character could be reimagined by other directors without fear of a lawsuit. For director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, he immediately started working on the film.
The horror flick has taken the horror community by storm. In this retelling, Christopher Robin, Pooh’s human companion stops visiting the Hundred Acre Woods. Suffering from starvation, Pooh and Piglet go feral and even eat Eeyore.
A sequel is already in the works alongside a horror take on another beloved childrens character, Peter Pan appropriately titled Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare.
