Legendary martial arts star, Jackie Chan has confirmed that a 4th movie in the Rush Hour universe is in the works.
The 68-year-old confirmed it while speaking to Variety at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to a slew of adoring fans, he explained how he eventually thought the first Rush Hour movie, released in 1998 was going to be a flop. “I got a phone call. Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker call me from New York. They’re crazy. We were $70 million in the first weekend. For me, I don’t know how to count.”
He also revealed conversations about a 4th part. “We’re talking about ‘Rush Hour 4’ right now” he said.
Back in 2018, Chris Tucker also confirmed Rush Hour 4 was happening. Speaking on ESPN’s podcast The Plug, he said he and his co-star, Jackie Chan were ready for a Rush Hour 4. “It’s happening,” Tucker said. “This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”
So far the Rush Hour franchise has grossed $849,834,929 worldwide on a $305 million budget.
