Following the success of 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, fans have been anticipating a follow up. We all want to know what’s next for Miles Morales and the rest of the Spidergang.
Across the Spider-Verse, coming in 2023 is set to pick up where we left off and reunite Miles (voiced by Shameik Moore) with Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), and Peter B. Parker (voiced by Jake Johnson). We’ll also be introduced to the likes of Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya), and Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman (voiced by Issa Rae).
Kemp Powers who directs the movie has confirmed The Spot as the movie’s main villa. Voiced by Jason Schwartzman, the Spot will have a major role in bringing the different Spider-Men and Spider-People back together to save the multiverse.

In the comic books, The Spot is a lesser known villain when compared with the likes of the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Rhino. However, according to Powers, “The Spot is an interesting villain because he seems like a joke, but when you really look at his powers, there’s incredible potential. His ability to open portals across dimensions sets him up perfectly for the Spider-Verse. He’s the villain of the next two films… and let’s just say that the Spot and Miles are connected in surprising ways.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released exclusively in theaters on June 2023.
