Actor Jeremy Renner is reportedly conscious and able to speak after suffering serious injuries while snow plowing.
Renner, 51, will be undergoing surgery today as part of his extensive recovery process, reports Extra.
The “Hawkeye” actor was airlifted to hospital on Sunday morning with “extensive injuries
” after the snowcat he was using to plow his driveway ran him over.
The vehicle’s safety features failed, and caused it to roll over Renner’s leg, around a quarter mile from the property, TMZ reported.
He was the only person involved in the accident, and the sheriff’s office said in a news release that it is investigating.
A neighbor who also happened to be a doctor put a tourniquet on his injured leg to stem the bleeding, but Renner suffered significant blood loss by the time he was airlifted from the snowy scene scene at 9.50am.
He is a two-time acting Oscar nominee, scoring back-to-back nods for “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town”. Renner’s portrayal of a bomb disposal specialist in Iraq in 2009’s “The Hurt Locker” helped turn him into a household name.
