Nicolas Cage has released a statement mourning the death of his ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley.
“This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken,” his statement reads.
“I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin.”
His statement refers to Benjamin Keough, Lisa Marie’s son who committed suicide at the age of 27 on July 12, 2020.
Lisa Marie, the only daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley, died on the 12th of January after suffering a cardiac arrest in her California home.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother, Priscilla Presley said in a statement confirming her death.
“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Elvis Presley has passed away in 1977, also from cardiac arrest.
Nicolas and Lisa Marie were married in 2002 for just four months, with their divorce finalized in 2004.
Before Cage, she was married to Michael Jackson in 1994, before divorcing him in 1996.
