Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr’s star player, expressed his frustration after his team’s 0-1 loss against Al-Ittihad in their Saudi Pro League match on Thursday.
This was the first loss for Ronaldo and his team in the Saudi Pro League, and it saw Al-Nassr drop to second place on the league table.
The only goal of the match was scored by Romarinho for Al-Ittihad, and Ronaldo’s only effort on goal was saved by Al-Ittihad’s goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe.
The fans of Al-Ittihad further rubbed salt in the wound by taunting Ronaldo with chants of Lionel Messi’s name.
A video that went viral on social media showed Ronaldo shaking his head and kicking water bottles in frustration after the match.
Ronaldo, who is 38 years old, has failed to score in two consecutive matches despite scoring eight goals in seven league games prior to this loss.
Al-Ittihad’s victory means that they have now moved to the top of the Saudi Pro League table. The team is managed by former Tottenham and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Al-Nassr, on the other hand, will have to regroup quickly if they hope to reclaim the top spot in the league.
